Alignment Recess is now #37 on Substack’s Top 100 Rising Philosophy Publications
Thank you for being here, for reading, reflecting, and returning to yourself with me.
Today I received a message that Alignment Recess is now ranked #37 among Substack’s Rising Philosophy publications.
Also on the list? Pamela Anderson.
I had a moment.
*insert screams, happy dances and jumps for joy*

Not the kind where you celebrate with a post and champagne (though I might get to that later). It was quieter than that.
It was the kind of moment where I remembered why I started writing here in the first place:
Not for the rankings or audience, but because I was quietly unraveling and I needed a place to return to myself.
This space became that place and now it’s becoming that for others too.
What It Actually Means to Rise
Being recognized in a category like Philosophy doesn’t mean I’ve mastered the answers.
It means I’m finally asking better questions to myself and it also means that people are tired of surface-level noise and craving depth.
It means you can write about identity, power, softness, and unraveling and still be seen. It means the world is changing.
We’re remembering that our most powerful work comes from embodiment, not performance and from presence, not pressure.
Representation
Another reason I’m proud to be recognized on this list is because of representation. When I first went searching for guidance around energy, spirituality, and the metaphysical side of life and business, I couldn’t find anyone who looked like me, they looked like Pamela.
No one who reflected my lived experience, my questions, or the intersections I was navigating as a high-achieving Black woman unraveling in real time.
I still don’t see any people in the space who blend both the spiritual with the strategic, the metaphysical with the material and the inner work with the outer structure.
It’s often one or the other. Either someone has mastered business but rarely speaks to or teaches on the energy cost, or someone is deeply embodied but focuses more on spirituality rather than leadership and strategy.
I believe we need both. A whole-person, soul-aligned, energetically honest approach to life and work.
This work isn’t new. Understanding your natural energy, your cyclical rhythm, your intuition, is not a “trend.” It’s ancestral and it’s wisdom that belongs to us.
But this space—the energetic, philosophical, and quantum mindset space—has been heavily gatekept. More often than not, what we see are wealthy white women and men who have branded and monetized what many of us have intuitively practiced for generations.
So yes, this is a personal milestone, but it’s also a collective one. I’m not here to just rise, I’m here to create space for more of us to rise together.
A Reflection for You
What are you rising through right now?
Not what you’re achieving or building…
But what you’re releasing so that your next version can finally come through?
Let that be your compass this week.
A Practice to Try
Take 5–10 minutes and journal on this prompt:
What part of me did I silence to be accepted?
What does it feel like to begin honoring her again?
What might change if I stop managing others and start trusting myself?
Let the answers come gently, you don’t need to force a breakthrough. Sometimes the permission we give ourselves is the most potent teacher.
